i was adopted. i was born into identity. i have no idea where i came from historically or ethnically. Therefore, i am a culture of myself. All the activities and chapters in my life created who i am today. i am free to select those i deem worthy of being in my family. i do not have to abide by longstanding rules or regulations. i do not have to follow in the footsteps of some long dead relative. i am a culture of myself. What i do, the things i believe in, and the rituals i make... build my identity. i am connected to nothing at all, and deeply connected to everything around me. i came from the earth. i am a true child of nature and spirituality. This is my gift.

With 2009 all wrapped up, I wanted to announce my intensions for 2010. On new years’ eve, me and a few friends got together to do a small ritual honoring the good/bad that last year wrought and to write intensions…

Perpetual

Perpetual

Perpetual was written in 2009 as my NaNoWriMo entry. I used to publish the entire drafts of my works to the site but as I’m editing to get them published, I’ve pulled the stories down. Instead I am offering downloads…

I have a few cool things to announce this month. On a whim, I submitted Touched to a Young Adult Novel Discovery Contest offered by the Gotham Writers’ Workshop. The contest asks for the first 250 words and the title…

Making art

Art, Witchy Thoughts

Apparently writing a 50,000 word novel this month wasn’t enough for me or my creative muse. Last night I finally got around to finishing up a project that I had been slacking on for a few months now. During the…

In the Studio

Geekery, Miscellany

Kender spent some time in his studio yesterday. He’s been rather melodious lately and it’s been great to hear what’s been rolling around in his head. The new tune was great but he really wanted to add vocals. So, I…

Kender’s read more Salvatore than I have; he was recently interviewed by the Willamette Week. I read the interview and really liked what he had to say about writer’s block and writing (click “read more” to see the passage I…

If it Works… Do It; or How I uncovered my 2009 nano idea

NaNoWriMo, Perpetual, Writing

“If it works, go for it,” became this year’s motto for uncovering my central idea for NaNoWriMo 2009. I fretted over the past five days about how “late” I was in getting an idea for my story. Kender and I…
